Day 1
Meeting in Tbilisi, starting the route.
A visit to the VI century cave monastery complex David Goredzhi. A small rise on foot directly to the complex (about 15 minutes). The monastery has a wonderful history, evidenced by the amount of inscriptions from different eras. And there are signs in 4 languages: Georgian, Armenian, Arabic and Greek. Now the monastery is divided by the state border of Georgia and Azerbaijan, so that you can still pay a little visit to the neighboring country!
Monastery of st.Nino. A visit to the monastery, the descent to the healing spring and swimming (optional).
Sighnaghi – the end point of the first day of the program. Walk around the city and the walls of the ancient fortress, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast in Sighnaghi and travel further along the route.
Kvareli Lake – a great place for a cup of coffee. In good weather, it is nice to sit here and enjoy the lake, the mountains on one side and the valley — on the other.
«Kinzmarauli» Winery. This plant produces the well-known wine Kinzmarauli, as well as other Georgian wine. Excursion through the winery with a guide. In autumn, during the grape harvest, you can even see some stages of wine cooking! At the end of the tour — wine tasting. There is a small shop where you can buy wine as a gift or for yourself at lower prices than in Tbilisi.
Nekresi Monastery – Orthodox monastery on the hill above the Alazani Valley. It offers a view of the entire valley Alazani. Inspection of the complex, down to the car and ride to the overnight site.
Day 3
The ancient city of Gremi – once the capital of Kakheti kingdom (XVI — XVII centuries). Guided tour to the preserved buildings.
Alaverdi – a cathedral, built in the first quarter of the XI century. Height — 50 meters, interior space — 42 meters. Before the Tbilisi Holy Trinity Cathedral of Tbilisi was built, it was the highest building of the Church of Georgia.
Tsinandali – the city where the eponymous winery «Tsinandali» — one of the oldest in Georgia. Visiting the museum of Alexander Chavchavadze (optional) — the famous poet, Lieutenant General of the Russian Imperial Army, the Georgian public figure.
Return to Tbilisi. Optional — travel through Gombori pass.
